School Link to heading
More importantly, university, the big step into the unknown when you’ve left the safety of your home that your parents built for you. You’re all of a sudden responsible for things and more often than not some things go wrong.
… But….
I think that’s things going right. If you never messed up and never had something go wrong what’s the point of living? You’ve got to risk a little and put yourself out there even if it means failure is an option. For me I had a great start with everything possible going wrong for me.
I was meeting people online and trusting them way too much, I wasn’t putting enough time and effort into my schoolwork and my grades suffered because of it. Especially in university falling behind had real consequences. I failed a class and had to retake it (much to my shame given it was a class I considered easy) but it also taught me humility and how to respect the time I’m given to learn. That’s why I, over the summer, bought books and all kinds of planners and practiced studying every night and making sure I do a little each day so that when I arrive back at university in a few weeks I’m all ready to hit the ground running.
My Thoughts Link to heading
My thoughts? well they’re not very significant or unique, I think school has a time and place but I think that university is a really good place for younger people to discover themselves and apply their life philosophy and see what happens. I know that I did that and a lot of my worldviews changed as I realized that maybe the world wasn’t as simple as I had always imagined it to be. Very quickly I was thrust into a whole new world with new rules and new prizes and consequences. It changed me,,, fast.
